Our whole family (My husband, myself & our teenage son) sees Dr. Pompeyo Chavez. I wouldn't trust anyone else the way I trust him. It is usually minor issues we need to see him as with any family physician, but about 7 months ago my husband was diagnosed with Melanoma. He had surgery to remove it & though his margins were clear there were other spots of concern so he was put on chemo. Dr Chavez took complete control of the situation for us as we were very overwhelmed & he made sure we had the best care & appointments with all the necessary physicians. During my husband's three months of chemo, he got a virus & Dr. Chavez went above & beyond because the virus seemed to get worse. He ran all the necessary tests to find the issue. The virus situation was fixed but During that time Dr Chavez found a very serious issue with my husband's liver that because he found it so early, it is reversible and my husband is doing great!! Without him being so thorough, we wouldn't have known about the issue until it was too late. When I thanked Dr. Chavez for the amazing things he did for our family his response was very humble saying 'it's my job' and that 'it is his purpose'. I cannot say enough good things about the care we have all received from him. Without him the outcome for our family would have been very different. I would recommend him highly to anyone!!!

Dr. Vocal's office is by far the rudest and most incompetent office that I have ever been to. My husband went in after having a medical issue and the doctor informed him he needed to lose weight and exercise except that he is 6'2" 175 pounds and solid muscle. They refereed us to a doctor who never called back. We went back to get the referral changed back to a military facility and the incompetent referral desk woman claimed she spent an 1.5 hrs on the phone and still did not send it to the correct facility. I called the facility and in 8 minutes found that I needed to send the referral to the insurance company first and got the correct fax number. This was after the referral desk woman told us to call ourselves because she wasn't spending another 1.5 hours on the pone trying to get his referral through. Isn't that your job. Incompetent is too nice for that woman and that office. This is by far the worst doctor's office every.

My "Check ups" had been rescheduled by his office multiple times because he was going to be out of the office on my appointment dates. After the last cancellation I had to schedual with the nurse because my medications were running low. When I came in to see the nurse (After waiting an hour in the lobby and dealing with the grumpy receptionist). She spent a great deal of my visit criticizing me for not having been in their office in 1 1/2 yrs .It had actually been less than a year, but "That's what's written in my chart" and you can't argue with that !!! The nurse told me my prescriptions would be called in, but the pharmacy never got them. When I called the doctors office to inquire about the prescriptions I couldn't convince the person I talked to with regards to the dose on one of them because " It shows different in my chart". Ive been taking this same medication for 20 years, I've got the empty bottle with the dose right on the label, and Dr. Pompeyo is the prescriber...I was out of medicine at that point and ended up having to accept the wrong strength. For now I will have to take a double dose until I can go back to their office (At my expense no doubt) so I can get the prescription rewritten and filled.

I've been seeing him for nearly 3 years and yet to have an actual physical ,however I have had alot of expensive blood work and other tests ordered. I'm uncertain if any of it actually gets reviewed since I request copy's of the results from the Lab, and there have been flags on poor kidney function ,but the only thing their office has ever communicated in regard to my test results was loose weight and get more exercise. He will not provide his patients with Immunization shots and does not coordinate with other physicians that you see.

Dr. Pompeyo- The reasons for my disappointment in him as a Physician and how their office operates-

I personally have used Dr. Chavez on multiple occasions and find him to be one of the best physicians I have ever had. He is personable, responsible, and gifted. I have entrusted family members to his care as well, all with positive results.
